Police car rammed in Melbourne CBD

A police car has been rammed by a 4WD with stolen plates in Melbourne's CBD.

Officers noticed the car bearing suspect plates on Collins Street about 4.45am on Tuesday and followed it through the Docklands and back into the CBD, before it deliberately sped up, crashed into the police car and raced away.

Police did not pursue the car and officers weren't injured.
