Payne makes marquee appearance at Melb Cup

Melbourne Cup-winning jockey Michelle Payne has been mobbed by fans and the media during an appearance at the Birdcage Marquees.

Wearing the in-trend colour of pink with a flower headpiece, the jockey stood out as a fashionable figure early on Tuesday before her two races.

Payne will not be riding in the $6.2 million race this year, but said she was very excited to be watching the Melbourne Cup from Flemington.
