What says horse racing more than a summer pool party? French champagne house Mumm has fitted a pool into its two-storey marquee. Racegoers will be able to watch synchronised swimming performances and acrobats dangling from the ceiling instead of horses.

Attica becomes more exclusive:

Think it's hard to get into Australia's best restaurant? Well, don't think Attica's pop-up in the Lexus Marquee will help you jump the three-month waiting list. Chef Ben Shewry will only serve eight people at each sitting of its six sittings a day over the four racedays.

Pink diamonds:

If you're extremely lucky at the track, you might want to poke your head into Emirates' marquee and do some shopping. The airline and jeweller Autore Group is showing off a $500,000 pink diamond, which is about the size of a small pea.
