Out-of-control car injures five in Vic

Five people have been injured after an out-of-control car ploughed into an outdoor dining area in Melbourne.

Emergency crews are at the scene in Fitzroy and say the injured have been taken to hospital.

Police say the 80-year-old driver lost control of his car, hitting another car and a power pole before careering through the dining area on the corner of Johnson and Brunswick streets.

It's not known whether the driver is one of the injured taken to hospital.
