The total - 1.14 million votes - accounts for almost 30 per cent (29.96 per cent) of enrolled voters.

Voters who could not attend a polling booth on Saturday were able to vote at 100 Early Voting Centres, from November 17 until 6pm on Friday.

On Saturday, polling booths will open for all voters from 8am until 6pm.

About 2.5 million votes lodged at booths will be counted on Saturday night.

Postal votes can be put in the mail until 6pm on Saturday.

Counting of early votes will get underway on Monday.
