Man charged, another quizzed over Vic rape

A man will face court charged with abduction and rape while another man is being questioned over the sexual assault of a woman in Melbourne.

After nightclubbing in the city on Saturday, the woman in her 30s was waiting for her friend on the roadside at Carlton in the early hours of the next day when she was picked up in a vehicle and subsequently assaulted.

A 23-year-old man on Friday attended a police station and was subsequently charged with abduction, two counts of rape, unlawful imprisonment and theft.

A second man, 26, handed himself into police and is being questioned about the same assault.
