Melbourne man charged over injured cop

A man has been charged after a police officer was struck by a motorcycle in Melbourne's east.
The officer was taken to hospital suffering bruising and swelling after allegedly being hit by the motorcycle in Vermont at about 8pm on Saturday.
Police have charged a 46-year-old Croydon man with a string of offences, including assaulting police.

He is also accused of riding an unregistered motorcycle while unlicensed, and is set to appear at the Ringwood Magistrates Court on Monday.
