Off-duty cop, firie, search Vic house fire

An off-duty firefighter and police officer have searched a burning Melbourne house and called in the fire brigade.
The rear of the Ivanhoe house was fully alight when firefighters arrived after being called by the off-duty officers on Thursday morning, the Metropolitan Fire Brigade says.
The elderly residents were not at home, but the rear of their property was destroyed as well as the roof space before firefighters managed to bring the blaze under control.
