No Melb Metro funding proposal: Turnbull

Victoria hasn't put forward a funding proposal for the $11 billion Melbourne Metro Rail project but Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull would be "delighted" to see one.

Victoria is looking for federal funding for the project, which will put two new tunnels under Melbourne's CBD and double the size of the city loop.

"I'm yet to see a proposal, the minister is yet to see a proposal, certainly we don't discriminate between rail and road," Mr Turnbull told 3AW on Tuesday.
