Eight deaths linked to Victoria's thunderstorm asthma event will be investigated together but no decision has yet been made on whether there will be an inquest.
The state coroner confirmed on Thursday the deaths will be investigated together so that in addition to clarifying the circumstances of each death, any common themes will be identified.
The coroner says no decision has yet been made on whether there will be an inquest into the eight deaths linked to the rare asthma storm on November 21, when about 8500 people were treated in hospital.
