New Vic gorilla baby 'a treasure'

Melbourne Zoo's newest baby gorilla is officially a little treasure.

The bub has been named Kanzi, which means "a treasure" in Swahili, after Victorians voted for their favourite moniker.

Little girl Kanzi was born in March, bringing the total number of gorillas born at the zoo to seven.

She was the first gorilla baby born at the zoo in 15 years.
