New super station for Victoria Police

A towering new high-security, super cop shop has been unveiled in Melbourne's Docklands.
It will replace the Flinders Street police centre and rehouse units from the St Kilda Rd complex.
It was designed with the 1986 Russell Street bombings in mind, with a raised entrance completely protected by bollards so no vehicle can get close to the building.

Premier Daniel Andrews said new custody officers, announced in last week's budget, would work from the station.
Police will start moving into their new home on Tuesday afternoon with 1500 staff eventually working from the site.
The new station will house uniformed officers as well as intelligence, forensic and the Sexual Offences and Child Investigation Team.
