Victoria's CFA has appointed a new chief officer nine months after the previous chief quit in the middle of a long-running pay dispute.
Steve Warrington was announced as the new permanent head of the agency on Tuesday, continuing on from an interim fixed-term contract that was signed last year.
Previous chief officer Joe Buffone quit in June after he refused to support the government's plan for a controversial pay deal with the United Firefighters Union.
