New assistant commissioners for Vic Police

Victoria's police commissioner has announced a new leadership team, adding four new assistant commissioners.

Rick Nugent will take on the role for the Eastern Region, Douglas Fryer for Road Policing Command, Brett Guerin for Professional Standards Command and Neil Paterson for Intelligence and Covert Support Command.

"I am confident that with these announcements we are building a command team that will place us in a strong position to continue to make our community safe," Chief Commissioner Graham Ashton said in a statement.
