Murder probe after Vic stabbing death

Homicide detectives are continuing to investigate after a man in his 20s was stabbed and subsequently died in country Victoria.

Emergency services were called to a house in the Bendigo suburb of Ironbark on Saturday evening.

Ambulance Victoria says the man had been stabbed and was suffering life-threatening injuries to his upper body.

CPR was already being performed and paramedics joined the effort - but the man died at the scene.

Victoria Police say the homicide squad is "investigating the circumstances surrounding the death".
