Extra trains and trams and an extension of Melbourne's free travel zone will be in place for the AFL grand final, the state government says.
Saturday's game will prompt 41 extra train services and 180 additional tram services, acting premier Jacinta Allan said on Monday.
Free tram zones will be extended from the city centre to areas around the MCG from Wednesday until the grand final, and if local team Richmond beats Adelaide, extra trains will be in place on Sunday to allow for celebrations, Ms Allan said.
