Planned tram stoppages have been called off in Melbourne as the public transport union and Yarra Trams return to the negotiating table.
Yarra Trams staff were expected to walk off the job for four hours on Friday but the action has been canned as discussions between the Rail, Tram and Bus Union and the tram network continue on Thursday.

But speculation of public transport disruption continues with the union planning another day of industrial strikes next week.
The Rail, Train and Bus Union is yet to confirm Friday's action has been cancelled.
