Melbourne tip searched for murder clues

Police are searching a Melbourne tip as part of a homicide investigation.

The search at a landfill site in Wyndham is part of a continuing investigation into the death of Michael Strike, whose body was found on a roadside opposite the Keilor cemetery last May.

Police believe Mr Strike was in Brunswick, in inner Melbourne, on the afternoon before he died and he may have visited the clubhouse of the Bandidos bikie gang.

The clubhouse has been raided twice as part of the investigation, including on Monday.

The tip search is looking for evidence relating to Mr Strike's death, not further human remains.

"The evidentiary search has been going for the last week and is expected to continue for the next few days," a Victoria Police spokesman said.
