Melbourne taxi driver hurt in hit-and-run

A taxi driver has been injured in an alleged hit-and-run by the driver of a stolen car in Melbourne's west.
Police say the taxi and the car collided at Yarraville shortly after 1am on Friday, trapping the taxi driver in his vehicle.
He was freed by emergency services and taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Police say the driver of the stolen car fled the scene on foot but shortly afterwards a man made a call for medical assistance from a nearby address.
A 24-year-old NSW man was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries where he remains under police guard.
