Melbourne's 'Terror Tinnie' case

WHAT WE KNOW SO FAR:

THE FIRST FIVE ARRESTS:

* Five Melbourne men, whose passports had been cancelled, in custody.

* They are Robert "Musa" Cerantonio, 31, Shayden Thorne, 28, Kadir Kaya, 21, Antonio Granata, 25, and Paul James Dacre, 30 were arrested on May 10.

* Face one count each of making preparations for incursions into foreign countries for the purpose of engaging in hostile activities.

* Arrested near Cairns en route to Cape York towing a seven-metre boat, wrongly dubbed in early reports as a small "tinnie".

* Allegedly planned to travel to Syria or northern Iraq, via Indonesia, to join Islamic State.

THE LATEST CHARGE:

* Sixth Melbourne man, Murat Kaya, 25, charged after raids on Friday, May 27.

* He's accused of buying a car, boat and trailer for the purpose of travelling to northern Queensland in order to leave Australia with intention of entering Syria.

* Faces single charge of preparing for incursions into foreign counties for the purpose of engaging in hostile activities.

* In custody after a brief hearing in Melbourne Magistrates Court.

WHAT HAPPENS NEXT:

* All six will reappear in court on September 22.
