Melbourne police search for hit-run car

Police are searching for a car that failed to stop after an elderly woman was run down in Melbourne's east.

The 73-year-old was taken to hospital with serious injuries on May 11 after she was struck by the vehicle in Balwyn, police say.

They say the vehicle involved was a dark coloured 2002 Ford BA sedan which they believe will have damage on its left side.
