Vic murder accused in court for shooting

A man charged with murder over a fatal shooting at a Melbourne boxing match has faced court.

Abdullah El Nasher, 27, appeared in Melbourne Magistrates Court on Wednesday, after being extradited from Sydney a day earlier.

He is the second man charged over the March 1 fatal shooting, which killed Ben Togiai, 30, and injured two other men, aged 32 and 34.

Flanked by guards, El Nasher sat in the dock, clad in a black long-sleeve top and pants.

He mostly stared ahead and was not required to speak during the short filing hearing.

El Nasher was arrested in Bankstown on Friday, but spent several nights in hospital after he jumped from a balcony.

Defence lawyer Stephen Andrianakis said his client was given tablets by medical staff, following treatment at a NSW hospital.

"He is in need of those tablets," he said.

El Nasher was brought before Bankstown Local Court on Tuesday, when Victoria Police was granted his extradition.

His co-accused, Mikhael Myko, 25, was also arrested at Bankstown. He appeared in Melbourne Magistrates Court on Tuesday, charged with seven offences, including attempted murder.

During Myko's appearance, the court was told ongoing tensions between two rival gangs led to the explosive attack.

El Nasher's older brother Ali El Nasher, 28, remains wanted by police, along with a fourth, unidentified man.

El Nasher was remanded in custody until his next appearance on June 4.
