A man is fighting for life after being shot in the chest in Melbourne's southeast last night.
Police said emergency services were called to Berwick Springs Promenade and found a man in the street with a gunshot wound to his chest at about 9.40pm.

The victim, believed to be aged in his 30s, was airlifted to The Alfred Hospital in a critical condition.
Police said they are investigating the incident and have urged anyone with information to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
