Melbourne man charged over ute-jacking

A man has been charged after allegedly striking a tradie in the back of the head and stealing his ute in inner Melbourne.

The 39-year-old Lake Bunga man has been charged with carjacking, conduct endangering life and multiple thefts after allegedly attacking an electrician in Balaclava on Monday night.

He remains in custody, and is due to face the Melbourne Magistrates Court on September 19.
