Melbourne man, 53, dies after van crash

A man has died in hospital after his van collided with a truck in Melbourne.

The Broadmeadows man, 53, was driving his van when it hit the back of a truck carrying a bobcat that was parked - with the hazard lights flashing - in Thomastown on Tuesday morning.

The man was trapped in the van and had to be freed before he was rushed to hospital, where he died on Wednesday, police said in a statement on Thursday.
