Melbourne house destroyed by fire

A Melbourne house has been razed by fire, causing $500,000 damage.

Flames were coming from the roof and front door of the Kings Park home on Saturday morning, and it was beginning to spread to the house next door when fire crews arrived.

There was no one home at the time and it took crews 30 minutes to bring the blaze under control.
