Melbourne home cleared out by thieves

Everything but the kitchen sink was stolen from a Melbourne house while it's owners were on a long holiday overseas.

When they returned earlier this month, they discovered their Mulgrave house had been ransacked and almost everything of value, including kitchen cutlery, was gone.

Thieves also took furniture, wall decorations, a kettle and a toaster from the Manchester Place property, police say.

Detective Senior Constable Warren Atkinson believes the burglary was planned, and those responsible may have used a truck or trailer to transport the items.
