An elderly woman has died after fire tore through a home in Melbourne's west overnight.
Emergency services were called to the property on Eames Avenue in Brooklyn just before 2am.

Flames were seen coming from the house.
Firefighters pulled an 81-year-old woman from the blaze, but she died at the scene.
The cause of the fire isn't known and an investigation is underway.
