Melbourne drivers misusing emergency lane

Drivers are regularly misusing the emergency lane on a Melbourne freeway.

In a two-hour police operation on Wednesday, 61 drivers were found driving in the emergency lane on the Western Ring Road - one every two minutes.

The Western Ring Road emergency lane has been the scene of two deaths in the past two months, including that of a man who was changing a tyre when struck by a car.
