Melbourne displays water saving habits

Melburnians used less water over summer, helping limit storage losses.
The city's water storage declined 5.1 per cent over the past three months - from 78.4 per cent to 73.3 per cent - with the result in line with the long term average for the season.
Melbourne Water supply manager Michelle Riley said on Tuesday it was encouraging to see lower water consumption despite no water restrictions in place.

"The reduced consumption not only kept some of our precious water in storage but showed us the water-saving habits adopted during the most recent drought have become a way of life," she said.
