Melbourne all night transport here to stay

A Melbourne trail of all-night public transport on weekends is here to stay, the Victorian government has announced.

The trial of late night trams, trains or buses services was due to end in June, but Public Transport Minister Jacinta Allan on Saturday said the Night Network would become a permanent feature of the city.

"Thousands of people now rely on Night Network and it's not going anywhere," Ms Allan said in a statement.

"The Night Network is part of what keeps Melbourne the world's most liveable city, and it's here to stay."
