Melb street want all trees chopped down

Most people want to live on a green, leafy street but a group of Melbourne residents want all their trees chopped down.
The residents on the Rowville street say they are sick of picking up leaves dropped by the large Oriental Plane trees in autumn and they want them gone.
Three-quarters of residents on Jarrett Street signed the petition to have the 15 trees removed in May, but Knox City Council rejected their bid this week, saying the $100,000 trees were there to stay.

The council said trees dropping leaves could not be avoided and they would not remove perfectly healthy trees - but did agree to sweep the street more regularly.
