Drill holes are being dug under the Yarra River from a floating barge as work continues on the Melbourne Metro Rail project.
The barge is under the Princes Bridge, along St Kilda Rd, and will see 12 bore holes dug for geotechnical work on the $11 billion project.
"This floating worksite will give us critical information about ground conditions under the Yarra," acting Victorian premier James Merlino told reporters on Tuesday.
