Melb man charged over nine armed robberies

An 18-year-old man has been accused of going on a spree of armed hold-ups across Melbourne in the past two months.

The Hampton Park man was charged with nine armed robberies, two attempted armed robberies, two car thefts and a robbery, police said on Thursday.

One charge relates to a violent robbery on Wednesday when a McDonald's worker was punched in the face before armed men fled with wallets, mobile phones, a till and an entire cash register.
