Melb man beaten with baseball bat

Police are asking the public to come forward after a 67-year-old man was beaten about the head with a baseball bat in Melbourne's north.

Police say the man was talking to a man sitting in a parked car in a Lalor driveway on the morning of May 11, when a third man parked opposite, got out and began beating the victim.

When the man in the car then reversed out and drove off, the assailant hit the car and then followed the man in his own vehicle.

The seriously injured 67-year-old tried to drive himself to hospital but was found collapsed in his car around two hours later.
