Vic man admits paying for kidnapping

A Melbourne chiropractor admits he paid $5000 to have his fiancee's ex-boyfriend kidnapped.

But a raft of other charges against Adrian Oorloff, 47, have been dropped because prosecutors no longer accuse him of wanting the ex-lover killed as well.

Oorloff on Monday pleaded guilty to one charge of incitement to kidnap during a hearing for 19 charges, 12 of which were dropped.

Allegations that Oorloff stalked the man and his siblings for five weeks were withdrawn.

A charge of incitement to murder was also withdrawn.

An earlier hearing was told the chiropractor paid an undercover policeman to kidnap his intended victim.

In addition to admitting the kidnapping plot, Oorloff pleaded guilty to four drugs charges, including trafficking methylamphetamine, and possessing cartridge ammunition.

Oorloff, who appeared in the Melbourne Magistrates Court via videolink, did not apply for bail after an earlier application was rejected due to the seriousness of the charges.

He will return to court in May.
