Melb drink driver five times over limit

A Melbourne man allegedly caught driving with a blood alcohol reading five times over the legal limit was on his way to the bottle shop when stopped by police.

Highway patrol officers in Lalor pulled over a car driving slowly along Dalton Road about 11.50am on Monday.

Police say the man in his late 50s returned a reading of 0.226. His licence was immediately suspended and car impounded for 30 days.
