Melbourne cyclist killed by car

A cyclist has died after being struck by a car in Melbourne.

The 52-year-old died in hospital after being struck on a straight stretch of the Princes Highway in Noble Park just before 7am on Monday.

The man's death takes the state's provisional road toll to 225, six higher than the same time last year.
