MCG visitor numbers fall in 2014

Fewer sports fans visited the Melbourne Cricket Ground last year even though finals crowd numbers were high.

The arena attracted 143,000 fewer fans than the previous year, even though numbers swelled during the AFL finals and the ICC Cricket World Cup.

The MCC Trust annual report said food prices had been cut to bring people back.
