MCG land values skyrocket: annual report

The MCG saw plenty of gold when it hosted the Olympics in 1956 but now it's a potential property gold mine.

Price estimates on the MCC Trust's land in December, including the MCG and surrounding Yarra Park, have soared in the past five years, the venue's annual report revealed on Thursday.

The MCG's land valuation increased from $75.7 million to $117.7 million, while the surrounding Yarra Park area's estimated worth almost doubled from $129.3 million to $257.7 million.
