Man stabbed in Melbourne road rage attack

A man has been stabbed in the chest and leg and his passenger assaulted in a road rage attack in Melbourne.

One car was cut off by another at the intersection of Nicholson Street and Glenlyon Road, Brunswick East about 7.30pm on Sunday, police say.

Both cars pulled over on Glenlyon Road and a man and woman got out, confronting each other.

The man driving the car that was cut off then stabbed the other driver, a man in his 40s, police said.

The attacker's passenger also assaulted the other car's female passenger.

The man has been taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries, while his passenger was not injured.

The two attackers got back in their car and drove off.

Police are calling for witnesses, searching for a couple of Asian appearance in a small blue car.
