Search underway after man shot in the thigh in Melbourne's north

An 18-year-old man has been shot in the thigh in Melbourne's north.
Police say emergency services were called to Mahoneys Road in Campbellfield at about 9.30pm on Monday to find the Lalor man with a gunshot wound to his upper thigh.
He was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Armed police have been sent to the area as a hunt for the offender gets underway, with people asked to avoid the area.
