Man rescued from Melbourne house fire

Firefighters have rescued a man from a burning house in Melbourne's north.
Bystanders told firefighters there was someone inside the single-storey property at Broadmeadows so crews entered with hoses and found the man in a bedroom, The Metropolitan Fire Service said in a statement.
He was taken to hospital suffering smoke inhalation after the fire broke out on Saturday night.

The fire was brought under control in 15 minutes but is not being treated as suspicious and the cause is being investigated.
