UPDATE: Victorian man shot with 'bean bag rounds' in stand-off

A man has been arrested following a rooftop stand-off in Melbourne's west.

The 46-year-old man had been on the roof of a Noble Park house since this morning.

A police spokesperson said they used "non-lethal tactics" to subdue the man, firing "bean bag rounds" at the man.

"Police did not fire rubber bullets as reported elsewhere as we do not have them," a police spokesperson said.

"The man suffered minor injuries."

The man had set fire to the property at 11pm last night but was extinguished by fire crews, police say.

They could not confirm the man was armed with a knife or had been throwing tiles at officers.

An ambulance spokesperson said the man was taken to Dandenong hospital but had no information on his condition.
