A search for an elderly man missing in remote, rugged country in Victoria's northeast has been suspended for the night.
The 73-year-old man left a note with his neighbour at 7am on Sunday, saying he was going walking in the Burrowa-Pine Mountain National Park, near his home.
The man lives in Guys Forest, a small community between Wodonga and Corryong in Victoria's high country.

Police and Parks Victoria rangers began a search for the man at 9am on Monday when the man's neighbours raised the alarm.
A Victoria Police spokeswoman said on Monday night that the search had been suspended but would resume at first light Tuesday morning.
