Man in hospital after Melbourne stabbing

A man has been taken to hospital in a serious condition after he was stabbed in Melbourne.

The 39-year-old man remains in a stable condition in the Alfred Hospital, after police and paramedics were called to a property in Port Melbourne at 2:30am on Sunday, with the man suffering upper body wounds, police say.

Police are yet to determine how the man sustained his injuries,
