Man in court after admitting Vic murder

A man who pleaded guilty to murdering a woman found in a pool of blood on a Melbourne street is due to appear in court.

Christian Bain-Singh, 23, will appear before the Victorian Supreme Court on Monday for a pre-sentence plea hearing.

He pleaded guilty to murdering Rani Featherston in Feburary on what was supposed to be the first day of his committal hearing.

Ms Featherston's body was found in a pool of blood on April 2014, some 500 metres from her Doveton home.

No one was charged over her murder until Bain-Singh was arrested in June 2016.

His arrest came two weeks after Ms Featherston's family made a plea for help finding her killer, and homicide detectives released new information about her last movements.

Bain-Singh has also pleaded guilty to aggravated burglary and intentionally causing serious injury.
