Man found dead outside Melbourne flats

A man has died after he was found with stab wounds outside a block of flats in inner-Melbourne.

Emergency services were called to Courtney St in North Melbourne around 4.45am where they found they man at the entrance to the flats.

He was taken to hospital, but could not be saved. A police investigation is under way.
