Man found dead outside Melbourne building

A man has been found dead by a passer-by in South Melbourne.

The person, who is yet to be identified, was found with multiple wounds outside a Dorcas Street building at 9.30pm on Friday.

Paramedics tried to revive the man, but he died at the scene.

Homicide squad detectives are investigating the death.

"The exact circumstances surrounding the incident are being investigated," Victoria Police said.
