Man found dead on Melbourne street

A man has died in suspicious circumstances on a Melbourne street despite emergency services trying to save his life.

Paramedics worked on the patient in Ashley Street in West Footscray on Saturday night but he died at the scene, police say.

The exact circumstances surrounding the death are unknown, however, homicide detectives are investigating.
